VIOLIN, VIOLA & Theory teaching for West and Central London.

Tutoring Experience

Elliot guides a first time Violin player through the basics during a Yamaha Music 'Learn to Play Day' in 2015.

Elliot has taught full time for nearly four years, and has had consistently excellent feedback. Elliot works with full time and part time pupils, both young learners and adults. With two years experience working as an Upper Strings Teacher at Westminster City School, London, Elliot has extensive knowledge of teaching in school environments as well.

Elliot also runs the "RCM Underground" Performance Platform and peer learning program at the Royal College of Music and acts as a class co-ordinator, working alongside many Conservatoire Students in a supportive and pastoral manner; and has taught on a number of Instrumental Teaching Courses in the south of England. He is a Student Member of the European String Teachers Association.

Tutoring Approach:

Elliot believes in tutoring through a relaxed, supportive and adaptive manner, taking the individual needs of each student into account. Elliot believes that encouragement inspires confidence, and works hard to build genuine rapport with his pupils. If a student needs the time, he will always endeavour to go above and beyond what is required of him to give them the support they need - especially in terms of low-income students, where Elliot is happy to negotiate affordable and constructive lesson plans.

Elliot has a technical approach to working out issues with playing and is keen to work on aspects of a students technique alongside their musical development. He works with students on all ABRSM exams from Grades I-VIII and is always seeking to encourage students to reach the limits of their potential.
